# 🚀 Start the Simulation Locally

## Quick Start

### 1. Fix Virtual Environment (if needed)

If you get import errors, recreate the venv:

```bash
# Remove old venv
rm -rf venv
# Create new venv
python3 -m venv venv
# Activate it
source venv/bin/activate  # On Windows: venv\Scripts\activate
# Install dependencies
pip install -r requirements.txt
```

### 2. Set Up Environment Variables

Make sure you have a `.env` file with your Gemini API key:

```bash
# Copy example
cp env.example .env
# Edit .env and add:
# GEMINI_API_KEY=your_api_key_here
```

### 3. Start the Backend

```bash
# Activate venv
source venv/bin/activate
# Start server
python run.py
```

Or directly:
```bash
uvicorn backend.server:app --reload --port 8000
```

### 4. Start the Frontend (in a new terminal)

```bash
cd frontend
npm install
npm run dev
```

### 5. Open the App

Navigate to: `http://localhost:5173`

---

## What's Configured

- **Backend**: `http://localhost:8000`
- **WebSocket**: `ws://localhost:8000/ws`
- **Frontend**: `http://localhost:5173`

All deployment files have been removed. The app is now configured for local development only.
